Two farm patches in Oxfordshire and East Sussex, with October 2026 dates
Where can you pick pumpkins in Oxfordshire and East Sussex in October?
October is short, my loves. For a pumpkin patch day, choose the farm and the date now, before the school holiday plans fill up.
I’ve started with two places from our UK picking guide. Millets Farm has a daytime patch and an evening event in Oxfordshire. Tibbs Farm has its Pumpkin Fest in East Sussex. The dates and visitor details come from the farms’ October 2026 announcements.
When is Millets Farm open for pumpkin picking in 2026?
Map and location
Kingston Road, Frilford, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX13 5HB. View Millets Farm Centre on the map. Contact: 01865 392200.
Millets began as a 300-acre dairy farm bought in 1952. It launched pick your own in 1976 and opened its farm shop in 1978, and today the site also has a garden centre, restaurants and a falconry centre. Entry to the farm centre itself is free; the pumpkin patch is a separately ticketed seasonal event.
Millets Farm’s next daytime picking weekend is 17 and 18 October, followed by daily opening from 22 to 31 October. The daytime pumpkin page gives the arrival slots and closing times.
The daytime entry price starts at £4 on off peak dates and £5 on peak dates. Pumpkins are paid for separately, from £1, and an online booking has a £1 transaction fee. Choose an arrival time when you book.

Are the Millets pumpkins grown in the patch?
Millets grows its pumpkins on the farm, then tops up the visitor patch with pumpkins from its other fields as the season goes on. That detail is on the farm’s pumpkin information. You may be choosing a pumpkin already placed in the patch.
Take the one you’ll actually use. A carving pumpkin and a pumpkin you want to cook can ask different things of the same shopping trip, so ask the farm about the variety before you pay.
When can you pick pumpkins at Tibbs Farm in East Sussex?
Map and location
Udimore Road, Udimore, Rye, East Sussex TN31 6AR. View Tibbs Farm on the map. Contact: 07596 741680.
Tibbs is a traditional family farm in the Tillingham Valley near Rye. It has grown hops since 1690, began pick your own and direct selling in the 1970s, and its café and farm shop overlook the hop gardens, using produce from the farm where possible.
Tibbs Farm lists pumpkin picking on 17 and 18 October, then 20 to 31 October 2026. Its Pumpkin Fest page describes pumpkins, squash and gourds, with a woodchip patch and farm café.
Those dates matter. A general farm opening time does not tell you when its pumpkin event is running. Our UK farm entries are useful for finding a place, then the farm’s event page is where I’d make the plan.
Does Tibbs Farm pumpkin picking go ahead in the rain?
Tibbs says its pumpkin event goes ahead in rain or shine. Dress for an outdoor farm visit and use the current Tibbs event page to check the day you’re choosing.
I’d take shoes I can clean, a spare layer and something to protect the car boot. Carrying a pumpkin home should be the satisfying part. Cleaning mud off every surface needn’t be the rest of the afternoon.
Where do you book Tibbs Farm pumpkin tickets?
Book through Tibbs Farm’s official ticket page. Adult and child entry is listed at £3.14 including a 14p fee. Under threes go free. Pumpkins, café food and face painting are paid for separately.
Before paying, check how many people need admission, whether the pumpkin is an extra purchase and which arrival time you’ve selected. Save the confirmation so you can find it at the gate.

How do you choose a daytime patch or an evening pumpkin event?
A daytime patch suits choosing pumpkins in daylight; Millets’ evening event adds a woodland trail and live entertainment. Pumpkins by Night runs on 16 to 18 and 23 to 30 October, from 5pm to 9.30pm, with final entry at 7.30pm.
Start with the day you have free and the kind of outing you want. There is no need to travel farther simply because another patch has a more elaborate photo spot.
What should families know about Millets Pumpkins by Night?
Millets recommends its evening event for ages eight and above. Its evening visitor information mentions loud entertainment, live actors and possible smoke, flashing lights and strobe lighting.
Millets lists evening admission at £15.99 online or £16.99 at the gate, plus a £1 fee per online booking. Check the evening tickets separately from daytime entry.
Read those details for the people coming with you. The daytime and evening events have separate booking links, so check the event name before completing the purchase.
What should you check before travelling to a pumpkin farm?
A pumpkin or winter squash that has been cured properly can keep for months in a cool room, so a picking trip is also a good way to stock up for the season. Read The Be Ready Campaign: A UK Guide to Stocking Your Home With Healthy, Local Food, and use the Be Ready Map to find more farms near you.
Check the farm’s current date, admission conditions and access information before setting off. Millets describes uneven ground and restrictions on motorised mobility aids on its daytime visitor page; ask the farm directly if you need a particular access arrangement.
For other parts of the country, use our UK pick your own guide to find a farm, then look for its current pumpkin announcement. Bring the people you like, choose something you’ll enjoy using and let the farm have the last word on the day’s conditions.
