Our original Barbuda stay collection has three different options: Frangipani Eco Lodge, Barbuda Cottages and Barbuda Belle. Their locations and facilities matter more than a promise that the island is one uniform, empty beach.
Frangipani Eco Lodge: Atlantic coast
Frangipani’s own website places it on Barbuda’s Atlantic coast. It describes an off-grid guesthouse and cabana, with solar lights and charging, kitchens and no Wi-Fi. This is the option to investigate if those simple facilities suit you. It is not on the west-coast strip, as the earlier guide said.
Barbuda Cottages: cottage accommodation
The operator offers cottages in several sizes and identifies solar power as part of its operation. Uncle Roddy’s restaurant is also on site. Compare the cottage you want and ask about transfers and current services before booking.
Barbuda Belle: Cedar Tree Point
Barbuda Belle’s website gives its location as Cedar Tree Point and describes an eight-room boutique hotel, a restaurant and a separate villa. The tourism authority describes reaching this remote beach across Codrington Lagoon by boat. Confirm the hotel’s transfer arrangements for your arrival.
Three entries, rather than all accommodation on the island
These are selections from the original collection. They do not establish that Barbuda has only three places to stay, that all stays sit on the west coast, or that every property is locally owned or off grid.
The island’s accommodation is changing. Nobu’s operator page currently describes its Beach Inn as in development with construction expected to be completed in late 2026. A projected completion date is not a confirmed opening or a recommendation to book a functioning hotel.
Arrange the arrival with your host
Confirm the flight or ferry you intend to use and the onward transfer to the specific property. The tourism authority’s 2026 update identifies Burton-Nibbs International Airport on Barbuda. The earlier blanket instruction to land at Codrington Airport is not a reliable current arrival guide.
Ask about the boat, road access, power, drinking water, connectivity and meal arrangements that apply to your stay. Check current official travel advice before departure rather than rely on an absolute statement that the island is safe.
Choose the facilities you actually want
For Frangipani, investigate its off-grid facilities and Atlantic setting. For Barbuda Cottages, compare cottage sizes and the restaurant. For Barbuda Belle, ask about its hotel or villa and boat transfers. Environmental practices described by operators are useful details to check; they do not by themselves guarantee a trip’s overall impact or where every booking payment ends up.
