What matters when choosing where to stay in Barbuda?
Book the accommodation and plan the island transfer together. Ask who will meet you, what happens if the crossing changes and which meals are available during your stay. A kitchen helps if you want to cook, but you still need a plan for bringing or buying ingredients.
The properties describe different solar systems. At Frangipani, I filmed the solar powered guesthouse and a separate petrol generator used for the water pump. Barbuda Cottages reports fully solar powered operations, while Barbuda Belle describes its hotel solar system. Ask about the particular room and its water arrangements.

Frangipani Eco Lodge
Frangipani is a guesthouse and cabana stay on Barbuda’s Atlantic coast, run by sisters Asha and Afiya Frank.
The current accommodation page lists a four person guesthouse and a two person cabana, with self catering facilities. The lodge advertises no WiFi. Afiya showed me solar lighting, charging facilities and the solar powered guesthouse during my recorded tour. A separate demonstration used a petrol generator to run the water pump. Ask how both systems will work for the accommodation you book.

Barbuda Cottages
Barbuda Cottages offers beachfront rental homes with one, two or three bedrooms, alongside Uncle Roddy’s restaurant.
Its current website reports that the cottages and restaurant have been fully solar powered since operations began in 2008. Choose the cottage size you need and confirm the restaurant’s opening days before booking.

Barbuda Belle Luxury Beach Hotel
Barbuda Belle is a family owned hotel at Cedar Tree Point, with beachfront bungalows and The Mangrove restaurant.
The hotel page describes a solar system and gives an eight room total. Transfers from Codrington on arrival and departure are included in its stated room terms; travel from Antigua is separate. Confirm the room category, dates and transfer plan when you book.
